Summarising Cam and Eves wedding in 10 images seems like sacrilege but I gave it a shot. Looking forward to posting a blog on this one.

Currently offering free pre wedding photos with every wedding photography package.
Pre wedding photos are a brilliant addition. It means you won't have a stranger rocking up on your special day, allows you to get comfortable in front of the lens, and as a bonus get some lovely informal shots to compliment your wedding photos.

I’ve had to speak with two brides who’s weddings have been automatically cancelled by this fortnight lockdown. It’s a difficult time for anyone planning a wedding right now in general, but my heart really goes out to these two couples. That being said I’m so impressed by their ability to roll with the punches and start planning a new date. We will come out of this stronger and better in the end. Sooner rather than later would be nice though 🙂

I used to love comics. The medium is such a goldmine for nailing a visual narrative. I often think of my shoots this way. Ending a shoot on a good sign off frame is a nice way to close the story. Here’s an example from warmer days.

Tegan & Adam ran out between entrees and mains to score 5 minutes of sunset glory. Shot at the impeccable @malibraefarm where the service, food, wine and sunsets score a perfect 10. 💛

Found a driveway just south of Palm beach. Doing my best to mimick an old world 8x10 large format camera with this one. If that’s mumbo jumbo - imagine those cameras where you have to stick your head under a large hooded piece of cloth. #sydneyweddingphotographer
Akacia and Yannick by the pacific.
After a beautiful ceremony in the hunter the plan was to drive back to Lake Macquarie, and take a few snaps along the way. Unfortunately the road back offered only a few options and while I was happy to stick to the plan I suggested we shoot a little later in the day when the light was more favourable at a better location. They were up for it, and this is what we got. #centralcoastweddingphotographer
If you're getting married over the warmer months when daylight savings is at play it's pretty normal to have a reception start well before sunset. If that's the case, consider setting aside 15 minutes (often between the entree and main meal) during a lull in proceedings to get back outside again for a few extra photos. The light is softer just after sunset, and the sky will often give you a wonderful palette for your photos. This is exactly what Pratik and Paige did for their special day at the beautiful @wallalonghouse Both location shoots are here. Can you pick where the second shoot starts? #newcastleweddingphotographer

Introducing Bemily (Em and Ben) and their pre wedding shoot in Bali. Beautiful people in a gorgeous part of the world. Oh to get on a plane again.

Throwback to Cam and Eves pre wedding shoot.
A pre wedding shoot is fantastic for so many reasons. Firstly it gives me a chance to get to know you and establish a great dynamic which will help you feel more relaxed about the photography on your big day. Also it gives me a chance to see how you both shoot best because everyone is different. I like to do this near the wedding date because it’s important your pre-shoot is still fresh in our minds. That way being photographed will feel more familiar and relaxed. I take great pride in making the whole process a fun experience 🙂

I was lucky enough to photograph my brother’s wedding at our fathers farm. Tim rocked dapper vibes while Brooke’s beauty shone the whole day.
I’ve now photographed 3 of my brothers’ weddings. They are all married off now 🙂 I’ll be walking down the aisle myself soon (once covid ends) so since one of my brothers is also a wedding photographer - I’ll be asking him to return to return the favour.
Moments before entering the reception in the @sydneyoperahouseaustralia
Often the times you think nobody’s watching are the most compelling of all. This photo wasn’t set up. I was rushing to the reception to prepare for the “announcement” photos when I spotted the unaware couple having a quiet moment. No matter what beautiful locations I go to, often my favourite photos from the day are way left field - just like this one - under a down light (which normally are not a photographers friend) in a corridor of one of the most beautiful buildings in the world - that never made the cut for this post.
A sparkling kiss to end the days photography. Sometimes I’m not always around to the very end of a wedding (my smallest package is 5hrs). In these instances it’s nice to have a final frame with a bit of punch to end the story on a high. Sparklers are a great way of doing this. Photographed at the lovely @fernbankfarm

Old world portraiture. 9 film shots, one digital. Can you spot the difference?
The film expired in 1955, so it shouldn’t be too hard. A few years ago a man bought a property in rural France and discovered a crate of old Kodak in his attic and decided to put it on eBay. It’s lasted me few years now and I’m starting to notice as it ages further it’s becoming even more thirsty for contrasty light.
